Bob is a man who dated Robin in Slapsgiving.
Show Outline[]
Robin decides to invite her new boyfriend Bob over for Thanksgiving with the rest of the gang, much to Lily's annoyance. Bob is forty-one years old, and the gang all agrees that he looks great, but Ted, who had just recently broken up with Robin, does not see it. In Ted's eyes, Bob is an elderly man. Bob tends to use verbiage that a much younger person would use, words such as "chillax." Bob complains that his parents are on his case about getting his life together, but Bob says that "snowboarding is a legit career."

Bob's actual appearance.
At Thanksgiving dinner, the gang are all at odds with one another; Marshall is tormenting Barney about his impending slap, Robin and Ted have resolved to end their friendship, and Lily is frustrated with how the rest of the gang is behaving, ruining their first Thanksgiving together. Bob gives a toast, saying that this Thanksgiving is "rad", and explains that he is the youngest of ten siblings, and that usually his Thanksgivings are fraught with arguing and yelling, which Bob describes as a "major buzzkill," which leads to Ted and Robin unconsciously saluting, making them realize there still is a connection between them.
