  • In Twin Beds, Robin informs Ted that his calligraphy ink is in, leading Don to believe that he was gay. He uses the ink to write a letter to remind him why he broke up with Stella, saying that it doesn't look so sad written in calligraphy. Barney later notes that the calligraphy ink is cool.
  • In Farhampton, Victoria notes that Ted's handwriting strongly resemble's a girl's, alluding to his calligraphy skills.
  • In The Broken Code, Ted hand wrote all of the table cards for the reception in calligraphy. Robin calls him "a wizard with a pen". Ted also mentions that he was approached by the decorating committee to make the signs for his senior prom. When Barney said that he lost the table cards, Ted uses his travel quills to rewrite all 200 of them.
