Curt "The Ironman" Irons was a sports reporter in Metro News 1 and Robin's ex-boyfriend.
In The Platinum Rule, Barney tells the story about Robin and Curt's relationship.
They started dating in the spring of 2007. Robin liked him because he used to be a hockey player. They went to a hockey game together and the two finally got together as a couple. Robin breaks up with him because he didn't give her any freedom. He takes the breakup very hard, even crying on live television.
In Sorry, Bro, Robin has a flashback to a lunch that she had with Curt after they broke up. Curt returns a gun to Robin that she had misplaced, and Robin jokes about watching the news and hoping that her gun wasn't involved in any incidents on the news. Curt flatly states that breaking up was the right choice.
