Kyle is a young man that Barney met the night before his wedding in Sunrise.
Season 9[]
The night before his wedding, Barney drunkenly walks down the street away from the Farhampton Inn and meets two young men, Justin and Kyle. Barney then takes the two to a strip club and claims that he will "teach them how to live." Barney tells them that the way they dress is key to picking up women, so he takes them to Tim Gunn to get fitted with slick new suits. The boys are skeptical at first but when they go to a party and Barney plays the "have you met" game with them, they come to find out that he was indeed correct about their attire. At sunrise, Barney leaves them with one last bit of wisdom: a moment isn't truly legendary unless your friends are there to see it. Barney then gives them a stack of napkins, upon which he wrote the contents of the playbook, leaving the "game" in their hands.
