Jesse Walker is a main character in the Hulu series, How I Met Your Father. He is portrayed by Chris Lowell.
Background[]
Jesse is smart with a bit of an edge and cynical about love. He claims in the Pilot that he will "never get married" because the one woman he wanted to marry, Meredith, publicly rejected his proposal onstage during their band's performance at The Happy Idiot. The proposal fail was recorded and uploaded to YouTube, where it went viral, earning Jesse the nickname "Mr. Proposal Fail."
Jesse is an aspiring musician who works as an Uber driver and part-time music teacher at Jefferson Elementary School in New York City, where Drew is Vice Principal. He lives with his best friend, Sid.
Jesse is Ellen's adoptive older brother. Ellen was adopted from Vietnam as a baby when Jesse was three years old. When he was nine, his and Ellen parents divorced following their mother's affair with a man named Chuck. Jesse stayed with their father in Ohio while Ellen went to live in Iowa with their mother and her boyfriend.
Jesse and Sid live in Ted, Marshall and Lily's old Apartment; they acquired the place after Marshall and Lily posted it on the Wesleyan University Alumni Group, which implies that Jesse and Sid also attended Wesleyan as well.
Jesse had feelings for Sophie but he ended up getting back together with his ex, Meredith, instead after they ran into each other. Inevitably, after a few months, they broke up.
Jesse needed to find a job so he briefly worked for Valentina as her assistant before he decided to return to teaching music again.
Jesse starts to date his coworker Parker. Eventually they move in together. However, Jesse still has unresolved feelings for Sophie. At the end of Season 2, Jesse kisses Sophie.
