- In Rally, after hearing that Robin's father's recipe for a Bloody Mary trades out tomato juice for wolf's blood, Marshall says "Bloody Mary? Sounds more like a Bloody Scary." When no one reacted, he starts to repeat the joke before Ted interrupts him.
- In The End of the Aisle, Marshall made puns based on the word "vows", such as "vow-za", "vow-erpoint presentation", "vow it's done", "vow dare you?", and "in-vow-luntary. He repeats the puns and no one laughs, Lily remarks that they are just not enjoying them.
