Mitch is the manager of a California Pizza Kitchen (CPK). He is broke. He sweats when he eats. He is in five different fantasy football leagues. However, despite his flaws he has one great strength. He is the Naked Man. He dated Robin in The Naked Man.

The "Naked Man" is a move Mitch invented for use on a date with no chance of a follow-up. You make an excuse to go into the date's apartment, wait until they leave the room and take off your clothes. Two times out of three it works and the date sleeps with you. The Naked Man gives you exactly what you need. No more. No less.

Ted, Lily and Barney have tried the Naked Man move for themselves. It worked for Ted and Lily. Barney however was thrown out of his girl's apartment. Naked.

Mitch was a good friend of The Mother, and tried the Naked Man on her as well. She leaves, and Kelly enters, and sleeps with Mitch.

Background

According to his telling, Mitch spent years of his life playing video games in his parent's basement until he decided to follow his dream of teaching music. He went on to become an instructor at an orchestra camp, with The Mother being one of his students. Besides music, the camp also taught physics. Mitch is a non-native New Yorker, and admits to having become more of a creep after moving into the city.

By March 2008, Mitch was teaching orchestra at a public school in the Bronx. Since the classes were underfunded, the school was offered a cello owned by The Mother. Later in 2008, Mitch stated he was the manager of a CPK, and is broke. Fantasy football is his prevailing hobby, as he discusses mostly this subject and is in five different leagues. Quotes

Ted: By the sum of his parts he is just a man. With what he does with those parts he becomes so much more. He may not fit society's definition of a hero but he is the hero I needed. The hero who helped me overcome the disaster of my failed almost marriage and get back into the game. He lives in the shadows. Is he a dream? Truth? Fiction? Damnation? Salvation? He is all these things and none of them. For he is ... The Naked Man.
