History[]
Nicholson, Hewitt, & West is a corrupt organization that harms the environment and is only out of monetary gain.
Series Outline[]
In Milk Barney and Marshall wage a prank war with a man named Clark Butterfield who works at Nicholson, Hewitt & West.
In I'm Not That Guy, Marshall accepts a job offer to work for the NRDC, a company that protects the world's environment. His father got him a job interview at Nicholson, Hewitt and West, which does the opposite of the NRDC, and Marshall decides to at least go to the interview to honor his father's wishes; Marshall has every intention of rejecting the job offer. However, his interview does not go as he had planned. Jefferson Coatsworth woos Marshall with a fancy dinner and a huge monetary offer to join the company. Marshall is conflicted. Still, Marshall decides to reject the offer. As he is about to do so, Jeff pulls up to him in a limousine, and takes him to the amusement park Tuckahoe Funland. Jeff tells Marshall that if he accepts his offer, Marshall's only client will be Tuckahoe Funland; Marshall enthusiastically accepts. It is later revealed that not only is Tuckahoe Funland harmful to the environment like the rest of Nicholson, Hewitt, and West's dealings, but that three years from this point Jefferson Coatsworth will be arrested.
In The Chain of Screaming, Marshall is yelled at by his boss at Nicholson, Hewitt, and West "Artillery Arthur". This greatly upsets Marshall, and ultimately leads to him screaming back at Arthur and quitting his job.
In Miracles, Marshall gives Robin an example of a miracle that happened to him. Some time after he quit Nicholson, Hewitt, and West, Marshall, desperate for work, decided to go and beg for his job back. Marshall meets with one of the senior partners, Joe Hewitt. As Hewitt is about to give him his job back Marshall discovers that he has lice; he had visited Lily earlier in the day at her kindergarten class and wore a pilgrim hat in the classroom, which was also worn by the children, and got the lice there. Marshall blurts out that he has lice, and Hewitt tells him to get out, thus Marshall did not get his job back. Two weeks later, Hewitt is arrested after a visit from the Securities and Exchange Commission.
