While the identity is unknown, the following has been revealed throughout the series:
- Sophie met the Father in the Pilot, which hints to the viewers that the son's father may be Jesse, Sid, Ian or Charlie.
- In The Fixer, it is revealed that Sophie also met Drew that night, adding him to the list of possible fathers.
- In Okay Fine, It's A Hurricane, it is revealed that Charlie and Valentina will get married and have a son together, which potentially excludes Charlie from the candidates for the role of Sophie's husband and the father of her son.
- The Father loves the Valentine's Day.[1]
- He gave Sophie a teddy bear on their first Valentine's Day as a couple.[1]
- The Father is still alive in 2050 because Future Sophie says to her son "just ask your father."[1]

Possibilities and Theories[]
- At the moment, it is not clear whether The Father can be connected with Jesse's photo that Sophie lost in The Reset Button, and which, according to the statement of her son, she later returned, but this whole story is a big reference to Ted Mosby and the Mother's connection with their yellow umbrella.
Candidates[]
- After two seasons, Jesse is the most likely candidate for fatherhood, and Charlie is the least likely. However, there are some contradictory points that still do not allow to exclude any of the candidates completely:
- Charlie: Sophie spoilered in the second season finale that one day Valentina and Charlie will be together and they will have a son named Alex. However, it is unknown how long they will go to this decision. And since it is revealed that Val will have something with Drew, there is a chance that Charlie will also continue to have new relationships (possibly with Sophie in the future). In addition, Alex's birth indicates that at some point Charlie will give up his reluctance to have children, but it is still unknown whether Alex will be his firstborn.
- Drew: Sophie once had a relationship with Drew. Although he is open to relationships with other girls (including Val), he still has feelings for Sophie, despite the fact that he knows that she is now falling for Jesse. In addition, at the end of The Good Mom, when Future Sophie reveals to her son that she should have become more open to people, it is Drew who appears in her memories when her young self meets his friends.
- Ian: He is one of Sophie's few successful dates. They met in Tinder, but later he had to leave the country because of his work. Despite the long distances and separation, they continued to remain in a very good relationship and even had a temporary reunion in Cool and Chill almost a year later. In addition, when Future Sophie was telling her son about her and his father's love for this holiday, a flash forward at the end of A Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Valentine's Day is shown where a young Sophie and Ian were on a date again.
- Sid: Sophie and Sid have the most fraternal and strange relationships that sometimes come down to some trolling. Sid had some traumatic experiences with her mother before meeting Sophie, and Sophie often sees Sid solely as an addition to Jesse. Nevertheless, they began to get closer and communicate more during the second season, and a certain chemistry began to be noticed in their relationship. It became so conspicuous that even Hannah, Sid's wife, suspected that her husband might have had something with Sophie in her absence. As a result, Hannah and Sid have broken up at the moment, which may lead to their divorce in the future. Since Sophie and Jesse have also broken up once, her possible relationship with Sid in the future cannot be ruled out.
